Dear Dr. Kahn:

\J	At this time, I would like to formally invite you to participate in the \F1The Future
of Cars--Energy, Environment and Economics\F0 segment of the annual meeting of the
AAAS to be held January 27-31, 1975 in New York. 
The symposium is scheduled for January 27-28, 1975 in the Regency Ballroom
of the Americana Hotel.
There will be a morning and an afternoon session on each day; each session
consisting of four speakers, a panel discussion and questions from the floor.
The proposed timing is one half hour for each speaker and one hour for
panel discussion and open questioning.  Your session would be on Tuesday
afternoon, January 28th.

	Besides you and me, there will be someone from the automobile industry
and an environmentalist in this session.
For your information, I shall take the position that the freedom 
of motion given by the automobile is worth maintaining and shall talk
about improving the utility of the automobile especially by computer
control.

	I enclose a copy of the draft announcement of the symposium
and shall send along further information as it becomes available.\.
